Begin Team

The Begin Team is here to serve the needs of first time visitors as well as our regular worshippers. Reserved parking spaces are available for first time guests. Greeters warmly welcome everyone who attends, and assist with questions our worshippers may have. The Welcome Centre staff are present before and after the service to distribute information on what’s happening, and greet our first time guests. Team members needed one Sunday per month.

The Belong Team

The Belong team consists of Caregivers who are an extension of the pastoral ministry of the lead pastors. Caregivers maintain regular contact through “friendship ministry” with an assigned group of people in the congregation. They offer practical help during times of difficulty such as providing meals or offering rides during illness. The team of Caregivers are frontline workers who work together to ensure care and support for the people of Southlands Community Church. The team is led by Harold Park and Sheila Keys.

Higher Ground Café

Following every worship service, we serve freshly brewed, fair-trade coffee and tea to our worshippers. Servers needed to assist once per month.

Cookie Ministry

If you enjoy baking cookies and want to share your talents with first time visitors and at other times throughout the year, this team is for you!

KidsQuest Sunday School

Teachers and class helpers needed to serve our growing children’s ministry once per month.

KidsQuest Day Camps

Volunteers assist with the weekly Family BBQ’s on Wednesdays from 4:00pm – 6:00pm during the 6 weeks of camp.

Community Group Host

Southlands offers several small group options (called community groups) throughout the year. Hosts participate by opening their home as a gathering place for a group.

Special Events / Hospitality

Southlands hosts several events throughout the year that require extra help with set-up, food preparation and clean-up.
